review review

Huh, yesterday I watch this one movie. And yeah, the movie (for me) was damn good. Dalam Mihrab Cinta, an Indonesian movie. Well, one thing about Indonesian movie is that they quite good when it comes in filming an Islamic-theme movie. And another one, most of them are based on novel, like this one, a novel written by Habiburrahman El-Shirazy, famous for his novels (and movies) like Ayat-ayat Cinta (my favourite during school time) and Ketika Cinta Bertasbih .Oh well, better start with the review first.

DALAM MIHRAB CINTA is the new Indonesia movie who tells about Syamsul (Dude Harlino) youth committed 20 years of studying in a boarding school in Kediri, leaving a fairly comfortable life. Here he met with Zizi (Meyda Sefira) daughter of the owner of boarding schools for help when he had been robbed on the train, the incident made them so close. At this boarding Syamsul expelled for allegedly stealing from his own best friend slander Burhan (Boy Hamza). Then because of his own family did not believe it, to actually make Syamsul become a pickpocket. In the midst of chaos and darkness of this life God provides a way for him to repent and bringing with Syilvie (Asmirandah). *Credit to Syok.Org for the short review (well, I download the movie there)*

So, from the movie, I sense some things that could be learnt:
  • When you're making 'sumpah laknat' to someone, no need to put your hand on the Quran and the second party must do it also (well, both parties must do at the same time, like the qazaf thing). But remember, it's not a reference that another party is not guilty or what-so-ever. Still, investigation must be done. Other than that, wallahu a'lam. (kindly comment me for any my wrongdoing ok?)

the punishment Samsul got after been accused of pick-pocketing
  • What people think about you are important. I remember one thing I learned from Sociology class (credit to Ms Parvinder) that called looking-glass self. The society reflect yourself. The society shape you to whatever you become. Like in the movie, Samsul was accused of pick-pocketing in pasentran he learned, which resulted him to be expelled from it, and then family rejected him, accused him as thief, and in the end, he became one. Because people kept calling him pick-pocket thief. But in one place, people call him Ustaz (religious teacher) because he always wear a kopiah. Then, he realized about his mistake and became the real ustaz. So, remember, you are what society see and think of you

been caught and lock-up, and even his sister, nadia wouldn't believe he would be like this
  • Allah is the most generous and forgiving His servants (Quran Surah Al-Muzammil, 20:73). Repent for the wrongdoing, and surely He guided you back to the right path. The door for taubat will not closed until sun appear on the west first (Kiamat). Happened here in the movie that Samsul repent and after that, became ustaz for the society he was living into.
  • This one, I find it interesting. No couple-couple dude. Engaged and go straight to marriage after you see the quality of the future husband or wife. And owh, solat ishtikharah first before deciding any decision >.< (i don't know how to describe based on the movie, but yeah see for yourself first ok? :D).

sylvie, the one that changed samsul's life (perhaps me also XD)
  • Maybe the one that we want is not the best for us. So never lose hope. Because Allah will guide you and give you the best for yourself. Like in the movie, when Samsul was near to marry Sylvie, Sylvie died in the car crash (this part I hate the most, because Sylvie was a good match for him, plus she is pretty XD). But then, he still marry, to Zizi (she kinda cute) that he know from the start of the movie. Well, both were good. So, yeah, if you don't get the good thing, Allah replaced it with a better one. So, be grateful. (Alhamdulillah)
Well, in the end, the movie was superb. I really hope Malaysia could produce this kind of movie, like Syurga Cinta (that one was good, but could be improve more). Do watch the movie. Until then, wassalam.
