This is a story of a toilet. Yup, obviously a toilet, the place where you take shower everyday, take ablution, take a pee, 'invest' etc. Okay, we skip to the next part which is basically more important than this thing (but still i will resolve thing around this place, well i mean the 'toilet' thingy).
There is one man, a young guy, work as a financial adviser in one big company, who was a good muslim. He attend an usrah, which was held after Asar once a week. So being a financial guy in a company, he got lot of works to do. Have to check the market, be in a conference call, go outstation for meeting, research on the market supply and demand, advice the board etc. Even so, he always attend his usrah, in seek for knowledge and Allah.
One day, he didn't came for the usrah. The naqib asked the others why this young, hot-blooded, eager man didn't come for today session which he never skip without any reasonable and important reason and thing. The others told that he got a business deal he couldn't skip, otherwise the deal will be off. So, the naqib was like, okay, so just go on with it. The next usrah, guess what? He still didn't come, for the same reasoning : business deal, good time for the business to grow up. And for the next few usrah, he didn't come, like he wasn't attending at all since the beginning.
Long story shortened, the naqib, coincidentally happen to be in the company the man worked, for a business(owh, the naqib also work as a businessman, not only as an ustaz xD). The man welcomed his naqib but he was covered with a deep anxiety, fearing his naqib would ask about the 'usrah' thingy. Later he confessed that he couldn't afford to leave his job to his colleagues as it was important for his company business and also his career. He should be with them all the time.
The naqib just smiled. Later, he asked the man:
"Eeerr, akhi, if you're having stomach ache in the middle of the job, would you stay doing your job or would you go to the toilet? Imagine it was so painful, that you couldn't even stand it anymore, in the middle of the job, okay?"
The man confused for a while, is it a trick or what, but he still answered the question:
" Hurm, for sure I would go to toilet as soon as possible because it is an urgent need that couldn't be compromised. Maaruf ya akhi."
The naqib replied and stated, "If that's the case, you have made dakwah is less important than doing your 'thing' in the toilet. Because of the stomach ache you need to go to the toilet, you said it is a need. For that, the business have to wait, to be later. Do you realize you have made your toilet more important than your dakwah? "
From that incident, he repent for his mistakes and start putting again the usrah and his dakwah mission ahead of others. Since that day, he never miss his usrah and others related to dakwah.
So, do we put toilet ahead of dakwah? Reflect back, because you may be putting other things more important than this. Maybe not the toilet, but others. Wallahu a'lam.
THE Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Convey from me even if one ayah (verse) for it may be that the one being informed will comprehend better that the one listening (at present)." (Al-Bukhari)
p/s : thanks akhi Ali Hadad (if he read this) for the story, really hit me after that xD
